Program Description: Being an employer can make you feel like you are in a minefield of possible legal claims just waiting to catch you making a mistake. Knowledge isn’t just power; it is also the armor with which you can protect yourself and your practice. In addition, a workplace that complies with the law is most often a workplace that enjoys high employee satisfaction, morale and loyalty.

Join us for a half-day seminar where you will learn how to handle employment law issues before they become employment law claims. Subjects to be covered include:

  • Tips and traps of the hiring process
  • How and when to use background checks
  • How to correctly fire and employee
  • Unemployment insurance claims
  • Common overtime mistakes employers make
  • Workplace Privacy – what you can and cannot know
  • How to handle criminal conduct in the workplace (including outright theft and embezzlement)
  • Same-sex harassment and discrimination
ADDED BONUS - For the first time ever we are expanding our Women Dentist Forum and encouraging attendees to invite non-dental women professionals as guests to the program. Do you have a female friend that is an employer or in a supervisor role that would benefit from learning about Employment Law issues? Bring them with you to the course and save $20 on the registration fee.  Join us in this unique opportunity to expand your professional network and gain insight from well-versed women outside of the dental field.
