About MDDS
The Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS) is about Connections for our Profession. MDDS is about dentistry, the future and professionals engaged in dynamic change. We are a progressive and innovative organization that exists in part to serve metro-area Denver, Colorado communities - by acting as an indispensable resource for the needs and interests of educators, dental and healthcare professionals, charities, universities and others interested in the pursuit of providing dental care and education to the public we serve.
MDDS has been serving the profession of dentistry since 1897. Its fifteen-hundred plus members, representing approximately 83% of all the licensed dentists in the Denver metropolitan area, collectively exemplify the MDDS mission of supporting the highest ethical practice of dentistry and enhancing the standard of care for the public served by the dental profession. MDDS is a not-for-profit component society of the American Dental Association dedicated to providing the most up-to-date industry information to the dental community it serves.
All actively practicing MDDS members are licensed to practice dentistry in the state of Colorado. Among the benefits provided to MDDS members are continuing education, legislative liaison, peer review and patient relations programs, community service programs, interprofessional and public relations, insurance benefits, financial and legal services, a staff referral service, subscriptions to local, state and national dental publications, and a professional library, in addition to other services.
The Rocky Mountain Dental Convention, hosted by MDDS, is the region's largest continuing education event for dental professionals. Over 8,500 dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, dental laboratory technicians, educators, students and office managers gather at the Colorado Convention Center each January for three days, over 60 lectures, hands-on courses and 300+ exhibits presenting the latest in dental technology, products and services. The 100+ year-old Convention is a recognized ADA CERP provider.
The Metro Denver Dental Foundation was established in 2005 as a supporting organization of the Metro Denver Dental Society, the Foundation’s mission is to advance awareness and education for improved oral health and to enhance access to dental care for all populations served by MDDS member dentists.
The current president of MDDS is Dr. Troy A. Fox. The Executive Director is Ms. Terri Gilpin.
