Course content: In this 4-week certificate course you will study the fundamental principles of photography and be taught methods for enhancing photographic vision through perception, perspective and composition. You will learn the function and how to utilize creative aspects of shutter speed, aperture and ISO. Using Adobe Photoshop you will acquire the skills needed for cropping, blemish removal, tone and level adjustments to greatly enhance your images. As an added bonus a “Field Trip Day” has been added to the program where participants will put their skills to work at the Denver Botanic Gardens with one-on-one instruction with a professional photographer. After completion of this certificate program many of these skills can be applied to increase your competitiveness in the workplace by having acquired sought after skills in digital photography and also start the foundation on which to build a rewarding hobby. Participants will bring a digital SLR, digital point & shoot or digital compact cameras to this beginner-level course.

Instructor Efrain Cruz, has been teaching digital photography since August 2006. He recently founded a photography school, Illuminate Photography Workshops, whose focus is instilling a passion and knowledge for the art and technique of photography.
