Peer assistance is available to help licensed dentists, students, hygienists and their families who answer "YES" to any one of the following questions:
An alternative to the traditional disciplinary process for licensees experiencing impaired practice, the Dentist Peer Assistance Program helps to reduce the fear of probation, suspension or revocation in the mind of the licensee. The Dentist Peer Assistance Program is a voluntary program of recovery support, providing intervention, monitoring and peer support.

Who can refer?
Anyone. Peer Assistance Services accepts self-referrals and calls from persons who may be concerned about themselves or others. Calls to them are confidential and you do not need to give your name or the name of the individual you are concerned about.
When to refer?
The sooner the better. Call Peer Assistance Services if you have any questions about any health or personal problem, especially if this issue may have the ability to affect an individual’s practice, work or studies.

How to make a referral if your concern is about a dentist, pharmacist or pharmacy intern:
1. Call Peer Assistance Services at 303-369-0039 (or 866-369-0039 toll-free) and ask to speak with the Alternative Programs Director or Case Manager. You can expect to be asked for information about your relationship to the individual and the nature of your concern. Our staff will talk with you confidentially and guide you through the steps of making the referral.
2. Give the individual Peer Assistance Services' contact information and emphasize that the services are confidential, and in most cases, at no cost.
